Production Assistant

This is an entry level role, that would suit a recent graduate looking to get into media production. Our projects are varied in type, so not exclusive to animation. We are looking for someone who is organised, with a willingness to learn in a fast paced environment.

Job Description

To ensure that an effective production process is in place that facilitates the successful delivery of projects, to the satisfaction of the Directors and the clients. To support all the production requirements ensuring that a good communication flow is maintained between the client, and team, during the project’s production.

Key accountabilities

  • To take telephone calls, pass on messages and represent Sliced Bread professionally in communications.
  • Liaise with the clients via telephone and email, request required assets, update them on progress, send files, ask for and manage feedback.
  • Organise assets, encode, prepare files, and find relevant project reference material.
  • Understand project requirements and the production process with its different responsibilities amongst the people involved in the production.
  • Assist on multiple projects efficiently and effectively, creating Gantt charts for timelines and project asset lists.
  • Take responsibility for a correct filing system per project, that facilitates access and exchange of files easily amongst project stakeholders.
  • Educate and manage employees and contractors working on projects about the filing system and making them aware of any frequently made errors.
  • Ensure contractors back up their work and adhere to our file management process.
  • Ensure all employees and contractors complete timesheets and that project budgets are updated.
  • Work with the team on projects as required to ensure the best outcome for the client and to avoid duplication of effort, or delay.
  • Research knowledge of creative developments, graphic packages and other tools and applications used in the industry.
  • Make notes on all projects to ensure the creative learning is preserved for future use and archive all completed project work to ensure it remains accessible to other colleagues when required.
  • Check work for faults and imperfections
  • Support the development of the business by helping to identify new business opportunities or clients.
  • To assist in the development of project proposals
  • Support project announcements via social media and appropriated news outlets.
  • Make notes on all projects to ensure the creative learning is preserved for future use and archive all completed project work to ensure it remains accessible to other colleagues when required.

Required experience/ skills

Unity Developer

Deliver client satisfaction through interpreting their requirements, creating code based requirements that meet with their approval and execute projects to time and on budget. Either work on an ad hoc freelance basis, or full-time in-house, to support development of ongoing client deliverables.

Key accountabilities

  • Take an external or internal application brief and create the initial concepts that meet with its requirements, review and seek approval on the direction of relevant parties.
  • Write code to an agreed client brief using relevant software applications to enhance the creative potential of the concept.
  • Liaise with the client under the supervision of the directors, keep the client up to date on the development of the application where required, make changes where appropriate and gain sign off for the final application.
  • Manage multiple projects efficiently and effectively. Ensure the client’s expectations are managed throughout and that projects are delivered on time and to budget.
  • Deliver all work to the highest standards of quality and accuracy paying close attention to detail and to its suitability for the media upon which it will be deployed.

  • Back up your work on a daily basis, as a minimum, in order to prevent loss or delay.
  • Write code that is clear, well-formulated, commented for scalability and can be easily adapted by other parties.

Required experience/ skills

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience using either Unity3D or Unreal game engines programming in C# or C++.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience developing software including git SCM, unit tests, debugging, CI/CD pipelines, QA, and release engineering.
  • Strong code optimization skills.
  • Skilled and proficient Unity Developer with experience of producing work for healthcare, retail, hospitality or financial services industry.
  • Build 3D AR / VR experiences using the Unity game engine.
  • Implement user flow / gameplay mechanics, collaborating with 3D artists and design.
  • Collaborate with designers, system integrators, and architects to execute.
  • Identify and proactively manage technical decisions, risks, actions and opportunities.
  • Help client’s scope, train, troubleshoot solutions.
  • Provide solution demonstration and guidance to support sales efforts
  • Provide technical input and level of effort estimations into client proposals.

Technical Delivery Manager

Job Description

Work closely with the directors and other members of the production team to ensure their workload is managed and resourced effectively so all projects are delivered on time to quality and budget. It is also key that the targeted profit margin for each project is achieved. This will be achieved though the clear setting of expectations, effective communication, coaching where required and inspiring leadership.

You also have a responsibility to ensure the company is using its resources and operating in a way that maximises its productivity and profitability without compromising quality.

Key accountabilities

  • Managing multiple projects of different sizes across various platforms within an Agile delivery environment
  • Project management and team resourcing for application and website builds, testing, deployment and issue resolution of all new multi-platform projects, within an Agile delivery environment
  • Proven track record of delivering projects on brief, on time and on budget
  • Preparing detailed cost estimates, statements of work, timing plans and specification documents
  • Sound understanding of technical development and the process required to deliver digital projects across multiple platforms
  • Day-to-day management of creative team, user experience designers and developers; assigning work and managing team deliverables
  • Multiple stakeholder management, from technical contract staff, creatives, agencies, all the way up to C-Level managers
  • Identifying and managing project risks
  • Managing change control procedure
  • Ensuring quality control
  • Serving as the main point of contact to internal clients and third-parties

Required experience/ skills

  • Successful record of delivering IT projects
  • Strong understanding of the SDLC (good working knowledge of both Agile and Waterfall)

Maya Generalist/ Lighting TD

  • Understands the necessity and has had experience of ensuring artwork is correctly set up for media delivery
  • Strong organisational and influencing skills
  • Skilled illustrator using both digital and traditional methods as required
  • Capable of attaining proficiency in the following core applications including, Maya, After Effects, Premiere Pro, zBrush, Photoshop (both retouching and image manipulation), and Illustrator
  • Capable of developing skills in modelling for characters, UV texture set-up, particle effects, shader configuration and preparation for rendering via Arnold and compositing
  • Ability to composite rendered images and use relevant effects to achieved the desired art direction
  • Prepares assets for use in Unity including lighting and texturing
